I'm Fishing for Comments Here Folks! Anybody Gonna Bite?!

WHAT I SHOULD BE DOING:
finishing my Romeo & Juliet paper.

WHAT I'VE DECIDED IS A GOOD EXCUSE TO PROCRASTINATE:
update my blog so that I can apply for a job that requests "frequent bloggers"

WHAT I'M ACTUALLY DOING:
signing up for Twitter, telling everyone on Facebook that I signed up for Twitter, and telling everyone on Twitter that I am listening to Pandora Radio...

Wait! I'm listening to music... any Opera fans out there? I'm currently enjoying Cecilia Bartolli, and I must say that I am extremely impressed. Her voice is both strong and gentle. Her vibrato and artistry do not overpower the emotion of the music but serve to heighten it. I manage to feel both sedated by its beauty and awed by the musicality. Furthermore, her accompanying orchestra is fantastic!

If you don't like Opera... well foo on you! Just kidding. To each his own, I say, especially when it comes to music. But if you've never actually been to see an Opera performance then I truly think you are missing out on a great lifetime experience. I have only ever been once in my life but it was something that I have only not done again because of the expense NOT because of lack of enjoyment. I saw La Boheme and it was truly life altering. I concur Richard Gere via Pretty Woman:

"People's reactions to opera the first time they see it is very dramatic; they either love it or they hate it. If they love it, they will always love it. If they don't, they may learn to appreciate it, but it will never become part of their soul."

So share your thoughts with me on Opera: Love it? Hate it? Trying to appreciate it? Or maybe chat about procrastination: craziest thing you ever did when you should have been doing something else?

Until next time, this is Megs saying, find the music that will transport you away and make you forget - at least for a time - that you had something else to do...
